LEGIO dry backpack: MOLLE system on the front
TS-013-day dry backpack, approx. 45 litres
Designed for Special Forces: dry backpack with MOLLE system and H-harness attachments; with the BCS it can be used underwater.
Designed for Special Forces, for use on the surface and underwater. The LEGIO dry backpack is made of trilaminate coated with 550 g/m² Cordura®: it resists abrasion and the harshest conditions. The dry zipper and full internal Aquasure® sealing make it completely watertight. The backpack + BCS kit is dual-purpose: on its own the backpack is used as a bag for surface transport, reconnaissance and landing operations; adding the BCS makes the system usable underwater, adjustable to negative, neutral or positive buoyancy as the operator requires. The BCS on its own makes other underwater items negative, neutral or positive: for example a partly flooded diver propulsion vehicle to be made neutral or positive, or an empty cylinder to be made negative.
Technical data
| Capacity | Approx. 45 litres (3 days); can be made from 20 to 120 litres, or more on request |
|---|---|
| Material | Trilaminate coated with 550 g/m² Cordura®: abrasion resistance and durability |
| Watertightness | Dry zipper and full internal sealing with Aquasure® polymer: completely watertight backpack |
| Exterior | Modular MOLLE system, compatible with the Utility Pocket of the Combat M.A.S. drysuit |
| Attachment | H-harness attachments at the top and bottom |
| Left side | Oral inflator for manual inflation and deflation, to adjust buoyancy |
| Right side | Reinforced carry handle |
| Back | Steel D-ring for connection to the BCS; compartment for stowing the shoulder straps when not needed |
| Top handle | For carrying, also usable as an underwater towing point |
| Shoulder straps | Shoulder straps and back panel coated in water-repellent polyurethane: they do not absorb water and the operator stays dry during operations on land |
| BCS | Modular, removable buoyancy control system: low-profile super flat bladder of approx. 5 litres, with inflator for buoyancy control, dump valve for rapid deflation and modular inflation kit |
| Inflation kit | Removable pocket, cylinder, first stage and hose, fixed by MOLLE system; same features as the Combat M.A.S. drysuit kit, for redundancy between suit and backpack |
| Ballast | Weight pockets that take any shape of lead; four stainless steel D-rings with snap hooks to join the LEGIO backpack |
| Hydrodynamic trim | Weight pockets facing outwards, and therefore downwards in the water: a submarine effect. Backpack and BCS become one solid, hydrodynamic unit that is easy to tow with the backpack’s top strap |
| Sizing | Depending on the backpack capacity, the BCS has larger or smaller weight pockets, an air bladder of different volume and an inflation kit with a matching cylinder |
